Giulia Caselli – LLM International Law 2018

Why did you choose to study at UCL Laws?

I graduated with a LLM from UCL Laws in 2018 with a specialism in International Law. The Faculty’s reputation was key in my decision to study here, as well as the quality of the teaching.

What is your fondest memory of your time here?

I experienced the excellent teaching and learning offered at UCL Laws during my time as a student – taking the module Foundation and Principles of Public International Law with Professor Kimberley Trapp and Professor Alex Mills was one of the best decisions I made, since their lectures are one of the best memories I have during my time at UCL! I felt so intellectually challenged and motivated, and I was itching to go to class every week.

What have you gone on to do since graduating?

After I graduated, I spent a year completing internships in the field of diplomacy and went through the European Union graduate scheme (the EPSO AD5 competition) to start working full time in the institutions. I was actually called for an interview immediately after passing the competition because of my LLM at UCL!

What advice would you give to prospective or current students at UCL?

My advice to prospective and current students would be: enjoy your time at UCL because it is the best place to be!
