The Committee aims to promote green initiatives across the Faculty and work towards UCL’s sustainability strategy.
Laws Green Impact Committee
The UCL Laws Green Impact Committee is made up of 49 staff and students. Together, they find solutions to reduce the Faculty's environmental impact, and promote these initiatives within the Faculty.
Initiatives include Christmas and Easter Switch Offs, in which staff pledge to turn off devices over university closure periods to save energy. The Committee has also held a Plant Swap to encourage Laws students and staff to exchange or give surplus plants, cuttings, or seeds to others.
The Green Champion for UCL Laws is Jenny Slavin - if you're interested in getting involved, please contact Jenny.
Green Impact
Green Impact is a UCL-wide environmental competition and accreditation scheme that allows departments and divisions across the university to improve their environmental impact, support UCL's Sustainability Strategy and engage peers and colleagues with these essential issues.
In 2023-24, the Faculty was awarded the Silver Award for the third year in a row! In the coming year, the Faculty will continue working to maintain this achievement and get more people involved in making UCL Laws greener.
If you'd like to get involved, please email Jenny, the Faculty Green Champion for UCL Laws.
