With its focus on Greater London, the branch aims to connect academic researchers, non-academic stakeholders and the public to collaborate and exchange knowledge about bi-/multilingualism, language learning and their benefits.

At the branch’s launch event (Friday 1 November 2019), Dr Filippi and Professor Li Wei spoke about their interests and research in the field. The London branch is the third of its kind in the United Kingdom, adding to its growing presence across Europe, North America and Asia.

Bilingualism Matters was founded in 2008 by Professor Antonella Sorace at the University of Edinburgh.
