As market-based reforms have been introduced to the public sector in many countries, there has been significant interest in salary setting as a means of recruiting and retaining talented leaders.

This seminar explores rich administrative data on the salaries of school leaders in England over twenty years and how introducing salary setting reforms led to headteacher salaries becoming more closely tied to school performance, while also raising pay inequalities within the school.

This event will be particularly useful for researchers, teachers, schools and policy makers.

Please note this is a hybrid event and can be joined either in-person or online.
