An incoming wave of teacher retirements in South Africa: Opportunity or threat?
Join this event to hear Nic Spaull discuss the Teacher Demographic Dividend project in South Africa.

Half of all government-employed teachers in South Africa are aged 50 years or older, so the country will soon face a wave of teacher retirements. Replacing older teachers will be one of the biggest challenges facing the country, but it also offers the opportunity to renew the teaching workforce.
Nic will explore the Teacher Demographic Dividend (TDD) project that seeks to understand these challenges, and possible windows of opportunity created by this unprecedented demographic change.
This event will be particularly useful for students, academics and researchers.
Please note this is a hybrid event and can be joined in-person or online.
