This session will explore some of the issues that all students, but particularly those with special educational needs, may experience when transitioning back to school following the COVID-19 lockdown.

It will discuss planning with other staff for the return of these students, and practical strategies for supporting them in the first days and weeks. There will be a particular focus on supporting the independence of students throughout the session.

Speakers

CIE online series

The UCL Centre for Inclusive Education’s (CIE) weekly online sessions provide an opportunity for teachers, teaching assistants, Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCO), parents and other interested parties to learn more about a variety of topics related to SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability).

These sessions are a great opportunity for participants to tap into the centre’s expertise, with two or more tutors online during each presentation to answer questions.
