Based on the ethnography of a journey ‘to the roots’, this talk analyses practices of diasporic identification as they take place in and through the travels to China of Chinese - Tahitian descendant of emigrants. The travel itself entails an ‘evidential paradigm’: it is apprehended and realized as a kind of tracking and detective game. Identity is here explored as a research practice in travel.

All welcome. Please note that there may be photography and/or audio recording at some events and that admission is on a first come first served basis. Please follow this FAQ link for more information.
