The UCL Department of Information Studies (DIS) is a leader in interdisciplinary and innovative research across Library, Archives and Record Management, Publishing, Information Science, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Humanities. Join this event to discuss with our unique coalition of scholars their recent achievements and projects, the recent advancements in the DIS areas of study and potential collaborations in common areas of interest. The event will begin with a keynote from Professor Elizabeth Shepherd. It will include research talks and poster presentations by DIS scholars and research students, panel discussions and a networking session. The talks are organised in six themes:

  • Understanding human and machine cognition
  • Knowledge Organisation and Digitisation
  • Impacts of Technology
  • Diversity and Inclusion in Information Studies
  • Preserving the past: Digital approaches to Cultural Heritage
  • Data-empowered societies

There will also be further opportunities for discussion and networking during the lunch and coffee breaks and the drinks reception.
