Lisbon: Drugs

In Lisbon, there were 391 deaths from drugs over the study period (1995 - 2008). This figure consists of 344 male deaths and 47 female deaths and is based on data from the Instituto Nacional de Estatística (Statistics Portugal).  The spatial distribution of mortality due to drugs in Lisbon is demonstrated in the maps below for men only.  Women have been excluded from this analysis, as female drug mortality did not occur in at least 30 percent of Lisbon's small areas during the study period.  For further information about how these maps were created, please visit the methodological section of the Atlas.
