Lisbon: Cerebrovascular Disease

In Lisbon, there were 57,347 deaths from cerebrovascular disease (diseases associated with the blood vessels supplying the brain) over the study period (1995 - 2008).  This figure consists of 23,437 male deaths and 33,910 female deaths and is based on data from the Instituto Nacional de Estatística (Statistics Portugal).  The spatial distribution of mortality due to cerebrovascular disease in Lisbon is demonstrated in the maps below, shown separately for men and women.  For further information about how these maps were created, please visit the methodological section of the Atlas.
