Colours

UCL has a full colour palette, which allows for flexibility. Different messages can be expressed by using soft or vibrant colours.

Take care to ensure that there is sufficient contrast for your text to be legible.

Colours should be used consistently across indigo web sites/applications by defining a site palette consisting of one or more colours from below (the UCL palette) as demonstrated here in our colour palettes.

In all cases as shown in existing indigo sites the use of colour is to enhance definition in site elements for example accordion panes, box outs and table headers - the colour of all other elements of the page including text (including headers), links, CTAs and should not be changed from the default.

Colour is to be used in line with accessibility best practice and should not be used as the only method of conveying important information.
