Important Changes to UCL’s Immigration Guidance

Recent Government changes to immigration visa rules have been incorporated into the UCL Immigration guidance.

We would like to inform you that recent Government changes to immigration visa rules have been incorporated into the UCL Immigration guidance. 

The key changes below are effective from 4 April 2024:

  • Skilled worker salary threshold increased to £38,700 with new occupation-specific ‘going rates’ also integrated.
  • Shortage Occupation List (SOL) and related 20% discount rate removed and replaced with the new Immigration Salary List (ISL).
  • ONS 2010 Standard Occupational Code (SOC) system replaced by 2020 SOC codes.
  • Health and Care Visa salary threshold increased to the new minimum threshold of £29,000.
  • Additional information on rules for existing skilled worker visa holders who switch employers, extend or settle, is included.
  • Details of the way in which workers apply with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) issued prior to or after the changes on 4 April 2024 are also included.
