Impact CoP brings together staff across UCL for launch event

The Impact CoP is for UCL staff involved in any aspect of impact work, from the initial inception of impactful ideas, to evaluation, evidencing, and communication of completed projects. The CoP is led by Amy Beckett, Research Impact Manager; Robyn Parker, Capabilities in Academic Policy Engagement (CAPE) Project Manager; and Tadhg Caffrey, Faculty Impact Manager.
 
The launch took place Thursday 17 November as a hybrid event to allow 42 UCL staff to attend in person and online. The CoP Sponsor Dr Kathryn Walsh, Executive Director of UCL Innovation & Enterprise, presented the overall UCL Impact strategy and the role of the Impact CoP within a wider context. Following the presentation, the leads and group discussed networked and discussed project ideas for the CoP.

The co-leads had collated project ideas from the community in preparation and we were able to debate and discuss these together to decide how best to prioritise and take these forwards. It was a valuable opportunity to share ideas together and think strategically about impact needs across UCL and how to meet them."

Following its successful launch, the CoP will begin a programme of regular events, projects and networking for its members.
