Mandatory Safeguarding Training and International Safeguarding Policy

21 July 2021

New mandatory safeguarding training and a new International Safeguarding Policy.

Butterfly

Dear colleagues,

New mandatory safeguarding training

As part of our ongoing commitment to the safeguarding of our staff and students, we have introduced new online UCL Safeguarding Training – a self-paced online training course.

All staff who require an enhanced or standard DBS check for their role will be sent an email directly, asking them to complete the online course as part of their mandatory training.

We will also be publicising this course across UCL and encouraging all staff and students especially those who may have interactions with those under 18 and/or adults at risk; or those who need to deal with safeguarding matters, to complete the training.

New International Safeguarding Policy

Following our recent policy work around safeguarding, we have we have developed a new International Safeguarding Policy

This policy has been developed in response to the UK Research and Innovation’s policy and other funders requirements and furthers our work around sexual misconduct and safeguarding.

The policy applies to the safeguarding of research participants overseas and to staff or students working overseas.

We are working with Research and Innovation Services to embed this policy across Research policies and procedures.   If you have any queries about this policy, please contact the Employment Policy Team
