Claire Morley: Department Manager

I manage the Professional Services team in History and am responsible for the provision of administrative support in the department. I work with the Head of Department on matters relating to human resources and finance.

Ariella Ben-David: Senior Teaching and Learning Administrator

As the Senior Teaching and Learning Administrator, I support all teaching and learning activities within the department and have specific responsibility for overseeing Quality Assurance processes and managing assessment administration. I line manage the administrators who are responsible for examinations and assessments.

As the department’s Exam Liaison Officer, I am responsible for the administration of the Boards of Examiners, timetabling departmental exams and I work closely with both internal and external examiners.

Sladana Radanovic: Teaching and Learning Administrator

I provide support for all matters relating to the teaching and learning activities of students, from enquiry to completion, with a particular focus on supporting the department’s assessment related activities. 

I co-ordinate student submissions and support colleagues with the marking processes. I administer the recording and reporting of students’ results and work closely with intercollegiate and inter-departmental colleagues to exchange marks. 

I am Secretary to the Boards of Examiners and work closely with the Senior Teaching and Learning administrators and the Exam Board Chairs.

Sanjay Priyadarshi: IT Support Specialist - Social and Historical Sciences

Sanjay Priyadarshi

I am responsible for engaging in a wide range of IT services to support students, research, teaching and administration in the Department of History and SHS. I maintain and resolve IT issues and develop a more enhanced, efficient service for a diverse range of users.

Oana Borlea: EA to Head of Department

I work with the Head of Department as an executive assistant and support her work on administrative matters relating to the department. I am also the project administrator of the Nahrein Network. My work involves servicing and scheduling the department cycle of probation and appraisal meetings, servicing the HoD's Advisory Group, and other various tasks. In regards to the Nahrein Network, I act as the first point of contact for funders, applicants, awardees and partners as well as providing administrative and logistic support where needed.

I also provide administrative support for PGR students in the department.

I manage the administration of the taught History programmes, overseeing all aspects from enquiry to completion. I line manage the Senior Teaching and Learning Administrator and the administrators who are responsible for admissions, induction, the teaching timetable, module allocations, interdepartmental and intercollegiate liaison, student records, Study Abroad and Moodle.

Zainab Mahdi: Communications and Social Media Officer for the Nahrein Network 

I work as a Communications and Social Media Officer to The Nahrein Network. I look after all the network’s communications, be that the network’s website, newsletters and social media platforms, in addition to organizing events. 
I work Monday, Tuesday and half Wednesdays.

Claire Prescott: Senior Teaching and Learning Administrator 

As a Senior Teaching and Learning Administrator, I support all teaching and learning activities within the department. I have specific responsibility for overseeing module allocations, timetabling, student records and Moodle. I line manage the administrators who are responsible for module allocations and timetabling. 

Taran Baragwanath – Student Adviser (History)

I am the Student Adviser for History – I am the first point of contact for first and second year undergraduates for wellbeing, support and student experience matters.

My primary role is to meet with students and provide support and advice in a confidential setting on a range of topics including, health and wellbeing, mental health, disability and long term support from UCL. 

I also run wellbeing activities throughout the academic year including pre-arrival and welcome events for first year students and workshops on adjusting to university life and managing stress.

I work closely with the Departmental Tutor and Student Support Assistant within History and work within the central Student Support and Wellbeing department.
