Biography
Shoshana Sharpe was born and educated in Israel and has been teaching Modern Hebrew as a foreign language since her arrival in the UK many years ago.
Shoshana's teaching career has encompassed all manner of roles. She was Head of Hebrew Department in Jewish secondary school and has been the Chief and Principal examiner for ‘A level’ in Hebrew for the last 16 years. Among other things, this means writing and marking the ‘A level’ exams. She also wrote the International Baccalaureate exams in Hebrew for 3 years.
Shoshana taught in SOAS for 3 years then moved to UCL where she has been teaching since 2012.
For Shoshana, teaching is not only a pleasure but a real mission. Watching students who come into a course not even knowing the alphabet, progress and mature into people who can speak the language is her biggest reward.
