UCL's Graduation Ceremonies will be held at the Royal Festival Hall which is located within the Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XX.
The Royal Festival Hall is a 2,900 tiered seating venue within the Southbank Centre. Students and guests are seated separately.
Students will receive an e-ticket and will have their seat and row number included in their final instructions email. Guests will be sent their e-tickets directly by the Royal Festival Hall.
Please note that any entrance to the Royal Festival Hall itself can be used but please look below to see which entrance you should enter the auditorium by:
Students seated in Rows A-N, Seats 1-21, door G
Students seated in Rows A-N, Seats 22-40, door A
Students seated in Rows P-T, Seats 1-21, door H
Students seated in Rows P-T, Seats 22-40, door B
The Royal Festival Hall has facilities spread over six levels. To assist visitors with locating rooms within the building, it is separated into two sides: the Green Side and the Blue Side.
The cloakroom is located on Level 1 and there is a charge of £1 per item.
- Opening times
We recommend Students arrive at least 2 hours before their Graduation Ceremony in order to complete the mandatory procedures (Robing and Registration). Guests should arrive at the same time as the graduand.
NB: Students who have not registered by 10am (morning ceremony), 2pm (afternoon) or 6pm (evening) will have their name removed from the script and will not be presented at the Graduation Ceremony.
The Royal Festival Hall has a number of boxes (private seating areas) available at an additional cost. These boxes can seat up to a maximum of four guests. Each box cost a total of £250 and these can be purchased during the second wave of guest ticket sales.
Please visit the information desk at the venue if you wish to upgrade to a box. Boxes are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis on the day.
Access to venue (including vehicle access) - Blue badge holders and those with access requirements can be dropped off on the Queen Elizabeth Slip road off Belvedere Road. The slip road is located outside the main Royal Festival Hall doors, which faces the Hayward Gallery, and is signposted. The JCB glass lift is situated at this entrance and will take you to all floors.
Access to auditorium - All auditorium doors can be accessed via lift, apart from doors A & G (student entry only). For any students with access requirements please make yourself known at the registration desk and a Southbank Centre host will be on hand to escort you to the auditorium
