This new Centre aims to provide research and capacity building for the prevention and treatment of NCD in high, middle and low-income settings. Global NCD research is relatively new in IGH, and our strategic priorities in the Centre's early years will focus on building and leading a strong network of researchers spanning UCL, other leading academic centres globally as well as clinical and community partners in diverse settings, to build a portfolio of research and education activities on global NCDs.
Strategic Priorities
- To hold a UCL-wide launch event early in the 2017/18 academic year with four objectives in order to showcase the key activities in global NCD work underway at IGH and across UCL; create a platform to learn about other global NCD research underway at UCL; scan funding opportunities in global NCD research
- To establish a monthly seminar and blog series in order to further identify, strengthen and maintain linkages between Centre Members and other NCD researchers and to identify areas for future collaboration/funding bids.
- Through our new multi-disciplinary network of NCD researchers, to circulate and coordinate responses to relevant funding calls, leading to successful funding applications.
- To develop IGH's teaching on Global NCDs through an MSc Module/Short Course drawing on the range of expertise represented in the Centre's membership.
