Carolina Comandulli

Carolina Comandulli is a PhD student in the UCL Department of Anthropology and a member of the Extreme Citizen Science (ExCiteS) research group. Her work, based in the Brazilian Amazon, looks at using digital technology to help indigenous people improve their livelihoods by communicating their needs and views.

Before her PhD, she worked for the Brazilian National Foundation for Indigenous Affairs (FUNAI) for four years, helping to protect and promote the rights of indigenous people. There, she took on different positions, such as at the Indigenous Land Monitoring Department at the Sustainable Development Directorship.

Her analysis of people-ark conflicts in Brazil was the feature of her MSc in Anthropology and Ecology of Development from UCL.
