Every week, a different scholar introduces a topic they hold dear and at the end of the term you are allowed to write an essay on the one that spoke to you the most. This way, I was allowed to follow my own academic interests, while being stimulated to interrogate them from an interdisciplinary perspective. Samuel Vermote, Belgium
It was amazing being able to have a supervisor from the Portuguese department, and carry out research on Portuguese history, literature and politics through the lens of gender, and just being totally free to explore my own interests whilst also delving into topics that were foreign to me.  Joana Marques Da Cruz Rodrigues, Portugal
