Research summary
My primary research focus is on 20th century Scandinavian and Baltic political history, with a particular interest in inter-Nordic and inter-regional contacts and cooperation in the Baltic Sea area. I am also interested in contemporary European, Scandinavian and Baltic politics (especially foreign and security policy).
I also have an academic side-interest in Medieval Old Norse-Icelandic literature and culture.
Teaching summary
Most of my teaching concerns 20th century European political history, especially the history of Scandinavian and Baltic politics, society, and culture. In past, I have also taught modules relating to Medieval Studies, including overview courses in Old Norse literature, and various other subejcts in the field of Scandinavian culture, history, literature and languages.

Biography
I have been active as an academic in the field of Scandinavian and Baltic studies since 2007. I completed my PhD dissertation at University of Tartu, Estonia, in 2014, and joined UCL in 2015. My position is a split one with 0.5 FTE in Scandinavian Studies and 0.5 FTE in European and International Social and Political Studies (EISPS).
