New episode of the Lifecourse Podcast discusses the role of research and evidence in the battle to tackle and prevent Multiple Sclerosis
The latest episode of ICLS' Lifecourse Podcast is published discusses getting to grips with Multiple Sclerosis and the important role that research and evidence play in the ongoing efforts to tackle the disease, support the people who live with the condition and to try to prevent it.
Episode guests include ICLS' Scott Montgomery from Örebro University and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, who has been researching MS for more than 20 years. He is joined by Helen Andrew, who has been diagnosed with MS and David Coutts, senior research manager at the MS Society.
Scott discusses some of his most recent research on the links between events in earlier life, specifically adolescence, and a later MS diagnosis. Helen talks about her own experience of being diagnosed with MS and her search for answers about the disease. And David Coutts talks about the work of the MS Society to support Helen and others like her and of the important role of research in helping us better understand and tackle the disease.
