This free one-hour masterclass will help you kick start your thinking about self-advocacy and self-promotion. It'll focus on challenging unconscious biases, imposter syndrome and self-promotion.

This event is being run by the Women in Enterprise Network. The network aims to bring business women together, to create a community to connect with, share business ideas and explore best practice.

What to expect

During this one-hour online masterclass, you’ll learn about:

  • why a personal brand and presence matters
  • effective actions on how to start creating your persona
  • online communication methods

Who it’s for

This event is for anyone interested in setting up their own business, social enterprise or voluntary community-centred organisation.

You could be a UCL student, alumni or staff member, or someone who lives or works in London. You don't need to be a member of the Women in Enterprise Network to attend.

About the speaker

Jess Gosling is a UK civil servant, award-winning entrepreneur, public speaker, academic, and diversity, equality and inclusion champion.

With an eclectic 10+ years in various sectors and industries, Jess has consistently strived to bridge the gap between culture, diplomacy and innovation. She spent over seven years abroad in deployments with the United Nations, UK Government, NGOs, civil society, and startups. She’s built her career around interdisciplinary thinking, working on issues like gender mainstreaming, public policy and digital inclusivity.

In January 2021 Jess launched Gosling & Co. to challenge the perceptions around self-promotion, unconscious biases and imposter syndrome under-represented groups face.
