UCL Enterprise Fellowship Programme: part two (advanced)

This free programme of workshops for UCL postdocs and academics will help you develop the skills and mindset needed to successfully engage with businesses or start new enterprises.

This programme of six afternoon workshops will equip you with skills and knowledge to help you engage with organisations outside of academia for a variety of reasons. This could be to:
- make connections to further your research
- engage in activities that generate impact
- clearly understand UCL's intellectual property (IP) policy
- spin out companies based on the findings of your research
Each week you'll explore a different topic which is critical to any entrepreneurial venture.
You'll also learn how to approach your academic and professional life with an entrepreneurial mindset, enhancing your ability to create impact when engaging with businesses and other organisations operating outside the academic sphere.
What to expect
Each weekly session is led by an expert in the relevant subject, who will provide practical insight into implementing and managing different elements required to achieve entrepreneurial success.
The six sessions will cover:
- Building partnerships
- Consultancy skills
- Building and managing effective teams
- Marketing PR for startups
- Bootstrapping – DIY business startup
- Raising business finance
Who it’s for
This programme is open to postdoctoral researchers and academic staff from any discipline who are curious about entrepreneurship and interested in developing their entrepreneurial skills. You don't need to be an aspiring entrepreneur to attend. You don't need to have any prior business experience or an idea for a new business.
The programme is not open to students.
This course builds on the Enterprise Fellowship Programme (part one), but it isn't essential that you've attended part one before attending part two.
Please note: Completing this programme does not enable you to call yourself an Enterprise Fellow.
