EleServe is an electricity services model that simulates electricity demands and supplies at half-hourly intervals for different scenarios. A load management or 'smart grid' routine optimises the dynamic operation.
EleServe is comprised of four modules:
- A demand model where demands are split into 40 segments. This includes storage and the value of lost load.
- A generation model that employs a heuristic control algorithm to manage the scheduling of plant, given ramp rates and part load efficiencies.
- A system control algorithm that ensures requirements for spinning reserves are met and that system storage is used.
- A load management routine that moves demand with storage and recalculates generation.
