EEE celebrates two new IEEE Fellows
12 December 2022
Prof. Miguel Rodrigues and Prof. Kenneth Tong, UCL Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE), were both elected as Fellows of the IEEE.

Prof. Rodrigues was elevated in recognition of his contribution to multimodal data processing and foundations of reliable and secure communications, whilst Prof. Tong was elevated in recognition of his contributions to wideband and circularly polarized printed antenna designs.
Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE Fellow Committee recommends a select group of recipients for elevation to IEEE Fellow.
Less than 0.1% of voting members are selected annually for this member grade elevation.
On being elected, Prof. Rodrigues and Prof. Tong stated:
“I'm thrilled by this recognition by a leading professional society. I've been very fortunate to interact with wonderful students, colleagues, and mentors.
- Professor Rodrigues
“It is my great honour to be elected as a fellow of the IEEE. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my PhD supervisor Prof K. M. Luk, my mentors Prof K. F. Lee and Dr Keren Li, all the colleagues and students in UCL EEE and collaborators. Without their continuous support, encouragement, and advice, I will not have such achievement.
- Professor Tong
