Palace honour for Queen’s Award winner Berkeley Engineering Consultants, set up by UCL EEE alumnus

Berkeley Engineering Consultants recently visited a royal reception at Buckingham Palace to receive personal recognition from Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales for their achievement in winning a Queen's Award for International Trade.

The London-based company provides specialist engineering and environmental services for the global energy industry and is a strategic partner to major names in the sector. It also has facilities within the UK in Reading and around the world, including in Europe, Africa, Asia, and The Middle East. Berkeley has grown to over 500 employees since it launched in 2006 and now works for an extensive and prestigious client-base across all continents.

The Queen’s Awards are the most prestigious for UK companies, celebrating business excellence across the country. As winners, Berkeley have demonstrated outstanding success in international trade.

Mujteba Piracha is a co-founder of the company with his brother. He serves as the Company Director of Risk and Safety in the company and is a UCL EEE alumnus. He has enjoyed a career in Risk Assessment with the Big Four Consultancy firms before joining the team at Berkeley Engineering Consultants. Alongside his Engineering Degree with Honours from UCL, he has a Masters Degree in Finance and Financial Law from SOAS and is a member of the Chartered Institution of Taxation. As the Director for Risk and Safety, Mujteba is an experienced and an approved HAZOP Facilitator having Chaired a number of sessions for various clients. Mujteba is also a TUV Functional Safety Engineer and an approved Facilitator for SIL Workshops.
