Dr Patrick Sullivan

Patrick completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at The Queen’s University, Belfast, in 2010. He then went on to work within the education sector, both in England and in Spain for five years. In 2015 Patrick began the doctorate in Educational Psychology (DEdPsy), at the Institute of Education (IoE, UCL). His doctoral research investigated the potential benefits of extra-curricular activities within English secondary schools for participating students.

As part of the DEdPsy Patrick completed placements in a number of Local Authorities, including the London Boroughs of Islington and Tower Hamlets and Southend-on-Sea. Upon completion of the Doctorate in 2018, he continued working for the Educational Psychology Service (EPS) in Southend-on-Sea. Patrick then joined the EPS in Tower Hamlets in 2019.

Patrick’s research and professional interests include: the use of consultation and narrative approaches within EP practice / social and emotional development and supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs / personal construct psychology / alternative provisions and pupil referral units within the English education system.
