Prof K V Petrides

Professor Petrides joined the UCL Ed Psych team in January 2008. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration with summa cum laude honors from PACE University (NYC, USA), a Diploma in Psychology from the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Psychological Research Methods (in psychometrics and behavioral statistics) from the University of Exeter and a PhD (in individual differences, psychometrics, and behavioral statistics) from University College London.

Following six years at the Institute of Education, initially as Lecturer and subsequently as Senior Lecturer in Psychology, he moved to UCL where he set up the London Psychometric Laboratory. In late 2016, he was promoted to Professor of Psychology and Psychometrics. He directs the trait emotional intelligence research program and is principal developer of the family of TEIQue instruments. He has published extensively and lectures internationally on trait emotional intelligence, personality, psychometrics, and individual differences.
