Gavin joined the UCL tutor team in 2009. Since 2006, Gavin has worked as a Senior EP in Cambridgeshire and is now a Senior EP in Northamptonshire. Prior to this he was a Specialist Senior EP for Behaviour and Inclusion in Warwickshire, and spent four years as a maingrade EP for Coventry City Council. After completing his first degree in Psychology in 1993 and following a PGCE, Gavin was a school teacher in Northamptonshire before completing his professional training in Educational Psychology at the University of Bristol in 2000, from where he was also awarded a Doctorate in 2011.

Research and professional interests: the application of solution-focused techniques in change-management / Social and emotional development and supporting pupils and schools with social, emotional and mental health needs / social inclusion and pupil participation / bibliotherapy/ Qualitative research methods.
