12-13 PGTA Awards

The Department of Economics held the annual Postgraduate Teaching Assistant (PGTA) Award Ceremony on 19 June to recognize all PGTAs for their contribution to teaching and learning in the department.  The top performers, as determined by a combination of student feedback and input from academic staff, received a certificate and £50 cash.  


The categories and this year’s winners are as follows:

  • Outstanding contribution to teaching on a 1st year UG module: Alireza Sepahsalari, ECON 1001 & Rob Levy, ECON1004
  • Outstanding contribution to teaching on a 2nd year core UG module: Roberta De Filippis ECON2001
  • Outstanding contribution to teaching on a 2nd year optional UG module: Damian Clarke, ECON7004
  • Outstanding contribution to teaching on a 3rd year UG module: Dan Rogger, ECON3002 and Manzur Rashid, ECON3007
  • Outstanding contribution to teaching on a core MSc module: Priscilla Viera Fialho, ECONG020
  • Outstanding contribution to teaching on an optional MSc module: Nick Motz, ECONG011
  • Outstanding contribution to teaching on an MRes module: Cormac O’Dea, ECONG105
  • Outstanding contribution as a new PGTA in the department: Chris Gedge, ECON2001
  • Outstanding contribution as a graduating PGTA: Yves Gueron, ECONG038
  • Outstanding contribution to teaching across multiple programmes: Mario Alloza Frutos, ECON2007 & ECONG051


All award winners will receive a certificate and £50 cash.
