John Graunt (1620 - 1674)

Graunt studied London mortality statistics, projected population and created the first known life tables.

He was born in Birchin Lane, east London and died at his later home in Bolt Court. He is buried in the church of St Dunstan-in-the-West at Fleet Street (the church was rebuilt and moved in 1830).
