I did my undergraduate studies in the UK and from early on UCL Eastman was my first choice for my postgraduate training. It has a reputation of excellent clinical and academic training and is well recognised amongst dentists in the whole world. It is based in the centre in London very conveniently close to the UCL campus.
Firstly, the environment is extremely friendly in my department. We are supported by very experienced NHS and academic staff. The blend of the two provides us with a fantastic mixture of excellent training. Having eight different consultants gives us the opportunity to learn from everyone and gain knowledge from multiple different perspectives.
I have had the opportunity to present my research to an international conference, become an academic representative as well as do audits and journal club presentations.
There are multiple possibilities for later on and I have not made my mind up yet. I may prefer to have a mixture of hospital and practice work. This will allow me to progress academically and clinically.
