Dr Jacopo Buti receives the R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award

Dr. Jacopo Buti has received the R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology in Vancouver.

This award, sponsored by the Academy's Foundation, is presented for the most outstanding published scientific article on periodontal regeneration in the basic or clinical sciences. The intent is to encourage research in this area.

Dr Buti won for his article entitled Periodontal regeneration compared with access flap surgery in human intra-bony defects 20-year follow-up of a randomized clinical trial: tooth retention, periodontitis recurrence and costs.* This paper is based on the 20-year follow-up of a randomized controlled clinical trial (RCT) comparing three treatment modalities for the management of deep intra-bony periodontal defects evaluating clinical outcomes and costs.
