PRE-MODERN (PREM) is a research cluster that explores the wide and varied topics of medieval and early modern studies.

PREM events are intended to encourage a collaborative and productive research relationship between like-minded staff and students. Everyone with an interest in medieval and/or early modern studies is warmly invited to attend.
If you’re a UCL medievalist or early modernist, we invite you to join PREM on MS Teams. While you’re there, say hello in the Introductions channel, and explore/contribute to the Events, Noticeboard and Discussion channels. We hope the site can be a space for sharing news, events and opportunities across UCL departments, as well as being a way for us to get to know each other and our research.
PREM will hold a series of work-in-progress seminars throughout the academic year. These will be very relaxed and supportive - the perfect space to share work you’re keen to get feedback on or that you’re preparing to share elsewhere. If you’re interested in presenting at one of the sessions, please fill in this form.
If you have an idea for a session, a question or feedback to share, please contact the convenors: Victoria Rasbridge (victoria.rasbridge.19@ucl.ac.uk) and Sam Brown (samantha.brown.18@ucl.ac.uk).
