- MRC Clinical Research Associate
Philip is a Specialist Registrar in Neurology with a clinical and research interest in cognitive neurology, particularly young onset and inherited dementias. He is currently funded by an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship, under the supervision of Professor Nick Fox.
Philip’s research focuses on the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET) imaging and neuropsychological assessment to investigate early markers of pathological change in familial and sporadic Alzheimer’s disease. He has a particular interest in using MRI (structural and diffusion-weighted) to investigate presymptomatic neurodegenerative changes in the cerebral cortex.
In addition, he has recently been awarded an Imanova IMPETUS PET pilot grant to use tau PET imaging to investigate presymptomatic tau spread in familial Alzheimer’s.
