The Department of Information Studies offers various opportunities to study Digital Humanities at post-graduate level, as well as short courses.

Digitisation Suite

A shared facility for teaching and research in digitisation technologies, fully set up with state-of-the art capture for both 2D and 3D objects.

Consultancy

UCLDH Team Members are available for consultancy work to help scope, plan, and execute digital projects.

UCLDH draws on UCL's world-class research strength especially in information studies, computing science, and the arts and humanities. It supports and coordinates work in many institutional settings throughout the university, including the library services, museums and collections. The research facilitated by UCLDH takes place at the intersection of digital technologies and humanities. It produces applications and models that make possible new kinds of research, both in the humanities disciplines and in computer science and its applied technologies. It also studies the impact of these techniques on cultural heritage, museums, libraries, archives, and culture at large.

New report on ‘Sustaining Digital Humanities in the UK’

This report, published by the Software Sustainability Institute (SSI), lists a set of recommendations for SSI to further its activity in and engagement with the Digital Humanities community in the UK.

SSI’s aim is to develop better research software, at a time where digital methods and infrastructure are becoming increasingly important within the arts and humanities research landscape.

Welcome Adam Crymble

We are delighted to announce that Dr Adam Crymble will be joining us in July 2020. Adam will be the new Lecturer in Digital Humanities, and part of our programme team, here in the Department of Information Studies.
