My research summary: I am an ESRC post-doctoral research fellow interested in language and literacy development in deaf and hearing children. I completed my PhD at UCL as part of the Visual Communication Group at DCAL in 2019. My thesis focussed on the relationship between speechreading (lipreading), phonological awareness and reading skills in deaf and hearing children in the first few years of school. After my PhD I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Oxford University on the Nuffield Early Language Intervention before returning to UCL for my current position.
