Ever wondered how much the Amazon rainforest weighs? Or how tall a tree can grow? I use satellites and lasers to try to answer these questions, to better understand how forests work, and how we can protect and manage them.

I did a degree in Physics but wasn’t very good at it so I did a Masters in remote sensing. I was better at that so I did a PhD, and now I teach the subject.
