PhD student Martin Rey presents at new Astronomy Festival in France
6 September 2018
Martin Rey, Cosmoparticle PhD student, gives a public lecture at the first edition of a new astronomy festival in French Auvergne “Looking for the invisible, dark matter”.
Astr’Auvergne 2018 was the first edition of a large-scale astronomy festival held in French Auvergne and partly organised by Dr Nicolas Laporte, Research Associate at UCL.
Astronauts, astrophysicists and astronomers joined forces to share and communicate their passion about space and astronomy to the general public. Martin Rey was invited to contribute to the science festival by giving a public lecture focussing on the latest findings in cosmology, titled “Looking for the invisible, dark matter”.
“I focussed on one of the largest open questions in theoretical physics: the quest for dark matter, predicted by our current model of the Universe but still escaping detection despite ongoing large efforts from the community.”
The festival will run every 2 years.
