Comparative Study of Parliamentary Audit Committees

Principal Investigator: Oonagh Gay

About the project

This was a research contract awarded by the Audit Committee of the Scottish Parliament, who wanted as part of their 'legacy report' at the end of the 1999-2003 session to benchmark their work against best practice in other audit committees. With the assistance of Elizabeth McLeay (who covered New Zealand), Oonagh Gay and Barry Winetrobe looked at the audit committees of eight parliaments and delivered a report (published by the Scottish Parliament Audit Committee), followed by an oral presentation to the committee.
