The main objective of the research presented here is to advance the treatment of vascular anomalies by personalising its treatment on a patient-specific basis, based on coupling of image acquisition modalities (primarily 3D rotational angiography) with high performance computer simulations of blood flow using the lattice-Boltzmann code developed at UCL called HemeLB. We use the treatment of cerebral aneurysms based on stenting technology as our central application area, although the techniques can be readily extended to other neuropathologies.
