Research groups and projects

Here are just some of the research groups and projects at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital that focus on global health, in collaboration with our global research network.

Neotree

We use data, best practice and evidence to improve newborn care in low resource settings (from tertiary hospitals through to rural health clinics) to improve survival and equitable access to universal care.

Early Mariage

We use epidemiological datasets to study the causes and consequences of women’s early marriage in countries such as India and Nepal. This is supplemented by detailed fieldwork, exploring household dynamics and their interactions with child health outcomes.

Nutrition

The nutrition group focuses on using randomized trials to demonstrate the causal links of nutrition and its determinants with child health outcomes. Recent trials have investigated maternal relaxation therapy during pregnancy, and nutritional supplementation of undernourished young children.

Migration

As part of the ICH Global Health Initiative, we created a podcast in collaboration with the Institute for Global Health exploring different types of migration and the effects of migration on maternal and child health. To listen to the podcast and for further information please click here
