Lunchtime Yoga Classes with Marta

yoga sessions with Marta Zancolli

"I'm a scientist working in paediatric clinical research at GOSH and dedicating most of my spare time in learning and teaching about yoga. I genuinely live my passion and deep interest in the roots of yoga as a wonderful inward journey as well as an ongoing learning experience. Since October 2018 I’ve also embarked in a 2 year course in Yogatherapy which for me represents a great opportunity to immensely deepen my knowledge of the human body-mind relationship as well as a process to help individuals to maintain, nourish and re-establish this balance when it's lost in order to improve their health and well-being."

Weekly Yoga classes on Thursdays, 12:30 - 13:15, in the Wellbeing and Quiet Room (PUW Room G02)

Classes are intended to help you create more space in the body and mind, stretch and release tensions, improving our well-being. Through mindful movement and breathing techniques we can strengthen our body and mind, improve flexibility, concentration, and deepen our connection with ourselves and others.

Classes are mixed level and can be tailored to your needs.

Desk Yoga/Stretching (Marta Zancolli)

Desk yoga explores practices that modify yoga poses so that they can be done while seated on a chair or standing. These simple and effective  modifications make yoga accessible to everyone and they can be practiced  at any time for a few minutes or longer during the day at work or at  home. Practiced regularly they will help to release tension, stretch the muscles and mobilize the spine and the joints and  improve circulation in the common areas of stiffness and tension such as  neck, shoulders, wrists, lower back and hips. These practices are grounding, improve concentration and productivity and bring mental and physical wellbeing.
