Dr Harriet Shannon

Associate Professor

Dr Harriet Shannon
Harriet is deeply involved in supporting postgraduate physiotherapy students at UCL, but also Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) within the Institute, pan-London and nationally. On a local level, besides leading cardiorespiratory physiotherapy postgraduate education at UCL, she supervises NIHR pre-doctoral fellows and PhD students, and mentors physiotherapists who wish to pursue clinical academic careers. She is Chair of the CAHPR (Council for AHP Research) regional hub forum, working to meet the research needs of AHPs across London and ensuring equity of research opportunities nationally, and she is Vice-Chair of the ACPRC (Association for Chartered Physiotherapist in Respiratory Care). Beyond her professional dedication, however, what makes Harriet particularly inspirational is her pervasive positivity and approachability! She is able to relate and connect to colleagues of all levels and is an advocate for collaborative, flexible working.
