Guest lecture by Elena Aunon (Wood) on The Role of Water in Green Hydrogen Production

On 15 March 2022, Chemical Engineering students studying a module on sustainable water management had a wonderful opportunity to listen to a talk on water requirements for green hydrogen, by Elena Gil Aunon (Technical Director - Water Engineering in Wood)

Wood opportunities in hydrogen value chain

The talk covered water requirements and challenges related to Green H2 production, with an interesting discussion on the treatment and disposal of residue supported by case studies, followed by a lively Q&A session at the end. Students also enjoyed a well-being conversation at the start of the talk, reminding us not to forget to appreciate the blue spaces around us.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming Dr Payam Malek, Principal Process Consultant at Wood PLC to talk to students studying on the 'Integrated Hydrogeology and Sustainable Water Management' module at UCL Chemical Engineering on 1 March 2022.

Sudeshna Basu (module coordinator) hopes to invite both Elena and Payam back to UCL Chemical Engineering next year!
