Meet Vome Aghoghovbia - Writer, Energy Consultant and Chemical Engineering Alumni (2015).

For Black History Month, we asked Vome to answer the following questions: 

Who inspired you?

“Growing up in Nigeria, I developed a deep interest in the proper management of natural resources, especially in Africa. My father encouraged me to do work experience in various industries. My work experience was at ExxonMobil and I have since had a passion for the energy industry.

What is the biggest challenge that you have had to face?

“The biggest challenge I faced was leaving my first job at Deloitte after graduating. This led to loss of income and a change in lifestyle. 

What achievement are you most proud of? 

“I am most proud of my writing career. Also, my final year research project won the First Prize for the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Young Engineers Award for Technical Breakthrough.
