Fuel Cell Systems & Engineering Course

1 July 2019

The Toyota Mirai

UCELL@Fuel Cells Systems and Engineering Course took place in July 2019 at UCL.

The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in ‘Fuel Cells and their Fuels’ is a multi-university flagship collaboration undertaking fuel cell research in all its forms. It aims to equip a generation of scientists and engineers with all the tools needed to explore the changing energy landscape.

Professor Dan Brett is the UCL Director for the CDT and as part of their training course, taught a lecture on Fuel Cell Systems and Engineering. This course was attended by CDT students from the University of Birmingham, Imperial College London, University of Nottingham, Loughborough University and UCL.

Two of the members of UCell (Zahra and Rob) are part of this CDT and were tasked with giving a lecture to their cohort. They gave them the full UCell treatment! They showed them the inner workings of the Fuel Cell stack, giving an in-depth lecture on how the stack was put together, how Outreach of this nature works and a detailed over-view of the Toyota Mirai!
