Helping people from marginalised groups achieve their goals and advance their careers is one of the most powerful things allies can do.

be a Door Opener

1) Ask the people you manage or mentor about their career goals and, with permission, share them with influencers.

2) Be equitable when handing out stretch assignments and other learning opportunities.

3) Give wholehearted recommendations and referrals.

4) Advocate effectively during performance calibration meetings and promotion discussions.

5) Nudge colleagues from marginalized groups to pursue career growth opportunities.

6) Sponsor people who are not like you. Speak their name when they aren't around. Endorse them publicly.
