ICGNMD Tutor and Fellows attend “Leaders in Innovation Fellowship” hosted by Turkish Ambassador

International Centre for Genomic Medicine in Neuromuscular Diseases Clinical Tutor and MRC Clinician Scientist/Consultant Neurologist Dr Rob Pitceathly, and two international ICGNMD Fellows attended a “Leaders in Innovation Fellowship” event hosted by Turkish Ambassador Ümit Yalçın at his London Residence. The event was supported by the Newton-Katip Çelebi Fund to bring together the scientific research and innovation sectors in Turkey and the UK.  ICGNMD Fellows Dr Özlem Yayıcı Köken (Ankara City Hospital) and Dr Ipek Polat (IBG & Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir) were delighted to meet the Ambassador, and discuss the growing potential for novel therapeutics to treat neuromuscular diseases and the role of the ICGNMD in facilitating international therapeutic discovery and trials.
